The singer discussed what she is wearing to the prestigious event which will be held on Monday in New York City. Katy was careful not to spill too many secrets, but did give some hints about the overall look of the dress she’s chosen. “I can’t give too much away, but I picked it out right when it debuted on the runway,” Katy told the Cut. “I contacted the designer right away. I’ve known I’d wear it for a couple of months now. [One little hint?] It will definitely be me. Let’s just say, I’ll be an original punk. I love a theme!” Katy hinted at the kind of style she could be going for with her flawless appearance in New York last night. The popstar stepped out in a blue strapless fishtail Vera Wang dress for the Delete Blood Cancer Gala. The 28-year-old teamed the designer frock with Jimmy Choo heels, a Judith Leiber clutch bag and striking Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. She later joined the dress’s designer to pose for photographs at the bash, giving a closer look at her flawless make-up and elegant updo. Earlier in the day, Katy looked equally gorgeous when she headed to a matinee performance of Kinky Boots in the Big Apple. She wore a tight-fitting floral print dress and her hair in loose curls as she enjoyed the musical. |

In terms of starting your pop career off with a splash, Katy Perry certainly hit the jackpot with I Kissed A Girl, making herself an overnight global megastar with nought but a catchy melody, a saucy video and a frank admission of girl-of-girl snoggery – looking back, you wonder why someone didn’t do it sooner. Perry cannily avoided one-hit wonder status with a string of similarly addictive ditties – none of them, sadly, featuring any further gay-lady confessions – and became a permanent tabloid fixture when she shacked up with wayward, wild-haired funnyman Russell Brand. Alas, the Perry/Brand marriage was not to last, although Katy immediately bounced back with the 3D concert/documentary Part Of Me, which for many of us was as close as we’ll ever get to seeing her buxom Californian charms in three eye-popping dimensions. Katy Perry launches at #16 on the FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women of 2013. She has already been named as the hottest woman of the year by Mens Health. |
